In honor of the thinker, curator, author, and teacher, the Cathrin Pichler Prize will be awarded this year for the sixth time to a student of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna who - in the spirit of Cathrin Pichler - is concerned with thinking specifically about artistic methods and practices as a contribution and intervention to a scientific discourse.
The award includes prize money in the amount of 2,500 euros, provided by the City of Vienna. The certificate will be awarded during a ceremony.
Students of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna as well as graduates who completed their studies at the Academy in the summer semester 2017* or later are eligible to submit applications. The prize is dedicated to artistic-scientific research projects. (Qualification projects such as diploma, master or doctoral theses are excluded!)
The jury consisting of Sabine Breitwieser, Luisa Ziaja, Carola Dertnig, Andreas Spiegl, Magdalena Stöger and Felicitas Thun-Hohenstein will determine the winner.
