Exhibithion of students from the Academy of Fine Arts Prague, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague together with Simone Bader, Pavel Humhal, Edith Jeřábkova, Roland Kollnitz, Dominik Lang, Jiří Příhoda and Heimo Zobernig.
The exhibitions In the shadow of Art at Kunstraum am Schauplatz in Vienna, Art and Shadow at Gallery NoD and the Czech Centre Prague in February 2014 represent the cooperation between the three art schools.
The
cooperation was developed during 2014 on the motif of Mario Perniola's
book "Art and Its Shadow" in the format of several days of workshops,
seminars, presentations, exhibitions, a collection and a publication
with other cultural institutions such as the Secondary School of Art,
Architecture and Design in Bechyně, the Regional Gallery of Fine Arts in
Zlín and finally with Kunstraum am Schauplatz in Vienna.
Many of
us suspect what art is, some of us even know what it is or at least we
think so. For Perniola, "shadow" is an area that confirms and activates
the existence of an object and art. Art without a shadow, like a figure
without a shadow, cannot be trusted - it lacks a past and a present at
the same time.
Students from the textual sculpture class will
offer curatorial assistance to the artists from Prague by making
artistic interventions to support the installation of their works.
